Good discussions lead to good actions…

Being on the NW Police Reform Panel gave me the chance to ask NW Chief Doss how the community could help with some of the newer challenges with youths, especially mental health. On my very first meeting of the NW American Legion Auxiliary the president asked for community ideas. That’s when the passionate drive to create 33 crisis/trunk boxes for the NWPD started -small boxes with variety of toys (stuffed, dolls, cars and fidgets). Thank you to ALL the groups/members including Auxiliary and Sons of the NW American Legion Post 1796 for their donations, time and drive. Special thanks to Auxiliary President Lisa Van Nostrand, Commander Pifer and his wife Maria, and Sons member, Bob McCormick. And thank you to NWPD Chief Doss, and his team for the continued discussions.

NW Town discussion you should hear

Give it a watch or a listen – Last night’s New Windsor Town Board Workshop covered numerous topics including the much needed waste treatment expansion, continuing water treatment/plant issues, Comprehensive Master Plan, Dog Park, Water Meter Replacements and more. Tomorrow night will be the actual Town Board meeting, April 7th – 9pm. Watch it live on town’s fb page

Admiration for All our Service Personnel!

Today the Air Force graduated 30 flights from Basic Military Training. My utmost admiration to our new airmen and their families, especially New Windsor’s very own Derek Mendez (holding the flag). Families had to watch online. It’s a tough sacrifice on any given day, but today it’s extra ordinary.DM_BMT_040920

Senator James Skoufis endorses New Windsor candidates, Sylvia Santiago and Kelly Allegra

I am proud to endorse two candidates who are representative of the new wave of talented women running for office in Orange County. In the Town of New Windsor, on November 5, 2019, I urge you to vote for Sylvia Santiago for Town Council and Kelly Allegra for Town Clerk. Both achieved significant careers and their volunteerism to the community paints a picture of their commitment to serve and assist others.

The Town of New Windsor is in desperate need of new leadership, the lack of transparency and accountability of the current administration is extremely troubling. With lots of uncertainty and mismanagement on issues like reckless overdevelopment and water contamination surrounding the Town government, it’s crucial that we elect people that have experience and will fight everyday to protect our taxpayers. On a local level, it’s not about Democrat or Republican, it’s about doing what’s right for the taxpayers of New Windsor.

I’m thrilled to recommend and heartily endorse Sylvia Santiago and Kelly Allegra as candidates for election in the Town of New Windsor. As a burgeoning community, residents need an educated and committed team to address the Town’s progress in the new decade. I urge you to support Sylvia Santiago for Town Council and Kelly Allegra for Town Clerk if New Windsor on Election Day .
